Poseidon
As I sat down on my throne in Olympus, I studied the island of my offspring, the Cyclops. I watched Odysseus enter the island and knew that my kids would be terrorized by this menace Odysseus. Here is the story of how this happened.

As Odysseus walked through the tall grass and stumbled upon the cave of my son, Polyphemus, I instructed Polyphemus to return at once. What a joy it was to see the look on their faces as he ate 6 of them. I was laughing until I realized that Odysseus had a trick up his sleeve. Infuriated I was when I saw him pull out the jugs of wine. I tried to warn Polyphemus that this was a trick. He was too stubborn to listen and downed 4 bowls of the wretched stuff. He got drunk and passed out. I tried to wake him but I wasn’t fast enough. I watched as he started to sear the wooden stake. After he seared the stake, he gathered his men and plunged the stake into the eye of Polyphemus, burning it, and then he twisted it causing more damage. Trick my own son will he. I won’t have this at all. No. He must suffer, and suffer he will.

Zeus and I planned a scheme that could not fail. We will punish Odysseus, but we will keep him alive so that he may suffer more. He will watch his men die by my trident’s powers. My daughter Charybdis will lead them to Scylla. I will instruct her to terrorize his men and kill as many as she can. I have instructed Zeus to then keep them on the sun god’s island. They will starve and then eat the righteous cow. Helios will want those who ate his cow to die. Die they will.

Poseidon got up satisfied and returned to his palace under the Mediterranean Sea, knowing that he avenged his son.
